ABOUT JEFF

30+ years helping companies and people be the best they can be

Leadership Coach | Entrepreneur | Culture Architect | Founder of Pull the Chute**

For more than 30 years, Jeff Sesol has been building businesses, developing leaders, and transforming the way organizations think about people. He’s an entrepreneur who has founded and sold multiple companies—including FreeDrive, one of the earliest pioneers in cloud-based storage, and SonMedia, an online safety platform for families. But beneath the success, Jeff discovered something far more important than business strategy:

Companies don’t rise because of products.
They rise because of people.

And that belief has shaped his life’s work.

A Career Built on Real-World Lessons

Jeff’s entrepreneurial journey has been anything but linear—marked by big wins, tough losses, and the kind of humility that only comes from building companies in the real world. He’s experienced the thrill of winning and the crash of watching everything fall apart.

Those moments taught him what textbooks don’t:

  • Leadership is human.

  • Culture is non-negotiable.

  • And clarity is the antidote to chaos.

Jeff brings this lived experience into every coaching session, keynote, and leadership program—helping leaders gain perspective, step out of reactive mode, and rise into intentional, confident leadership.

Pull the Chute: A Mission to Transform Leadership

Jeff’s latest venture, Pull the Chute, embodies his conviction that when leaders slow down long enough to gain clarity, everything changes.

Just like a skydiver pulling the chute at 120 mph, leaders must sometimes pause to see differently, think deliberately, and choose their next move with purpose.

“If you grow your people, you will grow your business.”
This is more than Jeff’s tagline—it’s his philosophy for how modern companies thrive.

Through Pull the Chute, Jeff coaches executives, business owners, and emerging leaders to:

  • Build trust

  • Develop emotional intelligence

  • Strengthen communication

  • Empower teams

  • Transform their culture from within

He doesn’t give leaders more speed—he gives them control, clarity, and direction.

Jeff’s Personal Mission

Over the next decade, Jeff is committed to a simple but ambitious goal:
to change the world by changing the way we lead.

He believes deeply that people are an organization’s greatest asset. If we invest in developing them—really developing them—businesses grow, communities improve, and lives are changed.

Jeff’s purpose is to create leaders who create leaders, sparking ripple effects that extend far beyond the workplace.

Jeff’s WHY: Contribute

At Jeff’s core is a single word: Contribute.
He is driven by the desire to help others succeed, to support people through challenges, and to add value wherever he goes.

Clients often describe him as the “go-to” person—reliable, consistent, and genuinely invested in their success.

Jeff’s HOW: Make Sense

Jeff has an extraordinary ability to take complexity—chaos, confusion, data, decisions—and make sense of it quickly and clearly.

Where others see overwhelm, Jeff sees patterns.
Where others get stuck, Jeff finds movement.

This gift makes him a trusted advisor to leaders navigating their toughest moments.

Jeff’s WHAT: Trust

Everything Jeff does is built on one foundational principle: Trust.

He delivers what he promises.
He shows up—consistently, authentically, and with purpose.
He believes that when relationships are grounded in trust, there are no limits to what people and companies can achieve.

Trust isn’t just part of his brand.
It is the brand.

Pull the Chute: Leadership Coaching for Real-World Growth

Through Pull the Chute, Jeff helps organizations unlock their full potential by focusing on:

  • Leadership development

  • Culture transformation

  • Effective communication

  • Coaching for performance

  • Team alignment

  • Organizational clarity and direction

His programs and methodologies are built on decades of real experience—what works, what doesn’t, and what leaders actually need to thrive in today’s world.

Believe in yourself

Grow your People, Grow your Company

Since 1989, I have been entrepreneurial in one fashion or another. From starting my own painting company in 1989 as a weekend business to allow my wife to stay home and raise our kids, which turned into a full-time business in 1992 when I left Harris Bank to go out on my own. To FuturesNet, a communications network for the Futures and Options Industry. To FreeDrive in 1998, where we invented web-based storage and provided 50 MB (yes MB not GB) to over 28 million users world-wide. To SonMedia a bundled software to protect children from the dark side of the internet. To consulting companies on operations and growth and eventually starting a Business Coaching company, Pull the Chute, to help companies grow through the power of growing their people.
It is a path I would never want a do-over on. It has made me who I am today.

Pull the Chute (www.pullthechute.net) is the foundation by which we will create change in the world. We recently won an Outstanding Leadership Award at the CXO 2.0 Conference in Las Vegas. The key to growing your business is to grow your people. That all starts with Leadership.

Growing your company isn’t always about working harder. It’s about investing in your people, giving them a voice, and utilizing their talents to grow the company.

Let us help you take your company to the next level.

Sharing my experiences and ideas with others

Leadership is changing. It’s no longer about standing at the top, barking orders, or having all the answers. Today’s leaders need something deeper—self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire others to bring their best to the table. The New Leadership Landscape: Redefining True Leadership is a refreshingly different leadership book; it’s a roadmap for the modern leader who understands that success is about people, not about power.

When I first came across Jeff Sesol’s work, I was immediately drawn to his perspective. Jeff doesn’t just teach leadership; he lives it. He understands that leadership isn’t a title—it’s a responsibility. It’s about guiding, empowering, and adapting in a world that moves faster than ever before. Reading this book, you’ll quickly realize that Jeff’s approach is different. He doesn’t just throw theories at you—he takes you on a journey, sharing real-life insights and practical tools that make leadership feel accessible.

One of the things I admire most about Jeff’s philosophy is how deeply it’s rooted in experience. This book is written by someone who has built businesses, led teams, faced failure, and learned what it truly takes to succeed - not written by someone who has only studied leadership from a distance. His journey is one of trial, reflection, and growth, and in these pages, he invites you to embark on that journey with him.

What sets The New Leadership Landscape apart is its ability to challenge old ways of thinking. Jeff breaks down traditional leadership myths—the idea that leaders must have all the answers, that authority is about control, and that success is an individual pursuit. Instead, he introduces a new, more human-centered approach. He talks about the power of first principles thinking—breaking leadership down to its core fundamentals and building from there. He explores the importance of emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to communicate in a way that builds trust rather than fear.

But what truly resonated with me was Jeff’s message about leading with purpose. Leadership isn’t about personal ambition—it’s about why we lead. When leaders understand their purpose, they can inspire those around them to find theirs. Throughout the book, Jeff weaves in the power of self-reflection, encouraging leaders to ask themselves tough questions: Why do I lead? How do I show up for my team? Am I truly making a difference? These are the questions that separate good leaders from great ones.

This book is for CEOs, managers or anyone who wants to make a greater impact. Whether you’re leading a company, a small team, or simply striving to be a better version of yourself, the lessons in these pages will challenge and inspire you. You’ll walk away with a fresh perspective on leadership—one that embraces authenticity, continuous learning, and the courage to challenge the status quo.

So, as you turn the page, I encourage you to read with an open mind. Let Jeff’s words push you to think differently. Leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about asking the right questions. And if you’re willing to embrace the journey, this book just might change the way you lead—and the way you see yourself in the process.

Enjoy the journey.

Voicing my thoughts and ideas with others

Our mission is to help as many companies as possible to grow by being the best they can be. Eliminating the top-down managing ('Founders Syndrome') leadership mentality, to an employee inclusive culture that is encouraging, supportive, caring, and appreciative. Creating an environment where employees have a voice in how they do their job along with the overall direction of the business. We refer to this as a transformational leadership mentality.

Whether talking in front of 5 or 5,000 people, being able to share my stories, insights, and methodologies with others has been my passion over the last 20 years. The message is clear, it is time to change the way businesses thing and begin to listen to your people, they are the ones in the trenches, who better than to ask for their opinions and ideas. You want to get them to a place where they say 'This is my company too'.
